Wilfredo Barbosa-Roman, 91, of Worcester died Thursday, September 14th in the Hermitage Nursing Home surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Carmen R. Gonzalez; a son, Wilfredo Barbosa and his companion, Yarisbette Rodriguez of Puerto Rico; three daughters, Lourdes Barbosa of FL, Nelida Barbosa and her companion, Julio Capielo and Edna Lopez Barbosa and her husband, Frank Lopez all of Worcester; seven siblings; thirteen grandchildren, Keila Rivera, Katherine Martinez, Kiarali Santiago, Kevin Rivera, Edward Vargas, Wilfred Vargas, Michael Vargas, Isaiah Del Rio, Nicole Del Rio, Perla Garcia, Ambar Garcia, Wilfredo Barbosa, Jr., Wilmara Barbosa; three great grandchildren, Jesiah Santiago, Leannie Martinez and Kevin Santiago and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Lares, Puerto Rico and worked New York City for 40 years as a taxi cab driver, retiring in 1980. After retiring, he worked for TJMaxx Distribution Center for 3 years. Wilfredo was a member of the New Life Worship Center. He was a happy person who had a passion for singing and dancing. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. Wilfredo left a legacy to his children and grandchildren.
His funeral is Thursday, September 21st with a service at 6:00 PM in the New Life Worship Center, 9 Piedmont Street. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
