Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON — Patrick J. McKeon III, 66, passed away peacefully in his home on September 6, 2017. Beloved and loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Hilary K. Laraba and his two children, Katherine A. McKeon and Patrick C. McKeon.

Pat was born in Hyannis, MA to Helen (Crowley) and Lt. Colonel Patrick J. McKeon II and enjoyed the life of a military family, attending seven schools around the country before graduating from Bellevue High School in Bellevue, NE and later St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN. Pat also spent time in Europe after college before settling back in New England and earning an MBA from University of New Hampshire.

Pat was lucky enough to find a career that he loved for nearly 40 years and worked with people who became his closest friends. He treated golf as his religion, a devotion he shared with his dad and passed on to his wife and son, both of whom became golfers because of him. If asked, Pat would say his greatest joy was his children, watching them grow up and become young adults of character and humor. Pat had a great sense of humor himself and a gift for sly wit, but his laugh was the best.

In addition to his wife and children, Pat leaves his brother Michael P. McKeon and his wife Joan Keating-McKeon of West Hartford, CT, two sisters, Karen A. McKeon of Alexandria VA, and Susan A. McKeon of San Diego, CA, two sisters-in-law who loved him, Alison Laraba of Lowell, MA, and Jessica Cook of Dover, DE, as well as eight nieces and nephews and lots of extended family.

Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Pat’s life by attending visiting hours on Friday, September 15th from 7:30pm until 9:30pm and again on Saturday, September 16th from 12:00 until 2:00pm at FAY BROTHERS Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Pat requested that visitors dress for a celebration of life, not the colors of mourning. Golf shirts welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McKeon Scholarship Fund, c/o Webster Five, 100 Front Street, Suite 1900, Worcester, MA 01608.
