WORCESTER- Elsie S. (Pashoogian) Menzigian, passed away on August 30, 2017 at the Blair House following a brief illness. She was 89.
Mrs. Menzigian was born in Auburn on September 5, 1927 daughter of the late Donabed and Mariam (Nordigian) Pashoogian. Mrs. Menzigian attended local schools and graduated from Auburn High School. She went on to attend the New England School of Accounting and for many years she worked as a bookkeeper at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Mrs. Menzigian enjoyed traveling to the casino and playing bingo and cards with friends. She also enjoyed crafts and crocheting. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church of Worcester where she served on the Board of Trustees and was a Past Treasurer and Secretary. She also served the church on the Ladies Guild. She attended the Armenian Church of Whitinsville after moving there two years ago, and was a member of their Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Menzigian is survived by her four grandchildren, Nieri H. Simeone, Leena H. Varjabedian, Nooshig H. Varjabedian, Dzovig H. Varjabedian; her former husband and friend, Jacob Menzigian; her longtime friend, Eva Kopoyan; and many extended family members including nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Michael Pashoogian; two sisters, Zano Eshkanian and Alice Badegian.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 1st at 11:00am at Soorp Asdvadzadzin Armenian Apostolic Church, 315 Church St., Whitinsville. A visiting hour will precede the funeral beginning at 10:00am. Burial will be held privately. Arrangements are in the care of CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Armenian Church of Whitinsville.
