Eric Jonathan Doherty, 32, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 19 in UMass Memorial Hospital after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He leaves his fiance Nicole M. Laliberte and their son Jonathan E. Doherty of Barre, his mother and step-father JoAnne W. and Chuck Miller of Auburn, his father and step-mother Edward J. and Joyce Doherty of Holden, a brother Edward J. Doherty and his wife Samantha of Leicester, maternal grandparents Conrad and Bunny Wells of Brookfield, paternal grandparents Edward and Jean Doherty of East Dennis, step-maternal grandmother Dorothy Miller of Milford, CT, three step-brothers; Dan Miller of Auburn, Tim Miller and his wife Kim of Sharon and John Chesna, III of Holden, three step sisters; Kim Cote and her husband Christopher of Queensbury, NY, Melissa Chesna of Clinton and Lorraine Jewell and her husband Dan of Barre, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eric was born in Framingham. He graduated from Auburn High School and MassBay Community College. He was an Automotive Technician at AA Transportation in Shrewsbury for several years. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, motorcycles, working on cars, golfing, fishing and the outdoors. He was always tinkering and engineering things. He and his family attended St. Thomas A Becket Faith Church in Barre. Eric was always there to help out anyone in need. He cherished the time spent with family and friends but especially the time he spent with Jonathan and Nicole. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The Funeral will be held on Thursday, August 24 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. Please omit flowers.
