Richard B. Madden age 76, of Stoughton, formerly of Methuen passed away June 25th at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston Schools and the Peterson School of Engineering and was a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He worked as a Steam Engineer for Nynex in Middleton, Schraffts Candy and Hood Milk Co. and was a proud member of Union Local 877, Boston. He has lived in Stoughton for the past 5 years and previously lived in Methuen for 44 years. He was an avid boater and enjoyed spending time at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton listening to Irish Music and having a cold pint of beer. Beloved husband of Dianne S. (Konikowski). Father of Cindy Cushman and her husband John of Stoughton and Jen Bouchard and her husband Chris of Goffstown, NH. Brother of George Madden and the late Linda Foley and Helen Lacoy. Proud grandfather of Joseph. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Friday morning at 9. Burial Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Veteran United States Coast Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Irish Cultural Centre, 200 New Boston Dr. Canton, MA 02021.
