Albert George Kurko, Jr.
Albert George Kurko Jr. of Boston, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
Born on September 26, 1950, in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Albert G. and Sarah (Hawley) Kurko. Al is survived by his beloved wife, Julie (Perez) Kurko, much loved children--son, Alessendro Amanti and wife Gahuar-- daughter Sabrina (Kurko) Gunasti and Nebi Gunasti and former daughter in law, Christina McGowan of San Diego; His cherished grand children, Nebil Gunasti and Adriana Amanti; Al is the loving brother of his siblings, Kathleen, Sarah and Maggie; and he is also the loving brother of the late: AnnMarie, George and Mary Ellen Kurko and uncle of the late Stephen Scialdone.
Al grew up in Boston and met his wife, Julie at the Kingdom Hall where Al became an Elder. After awhile they moved to New York for many years where Al worked in retail sales at Gimbels, then in Puerto Rico and eventually worked in sales back in Boston.
After his retirement, amongst other activities, Al became the family chauffeur and would make sure that you made your appointments in time and do the worrying for you. Al’s quirky sense of humor and compassion for others attracted lots of people. And he would help anyone in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, at the Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St, West Roxbury.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Corey St in West Roxbury MA
