Susan M. Mulvey
Susan M. Mulvey, (Sue), 67, of Canton, MA, passed away on June 11th after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born in Boston, MA on March 13, 1950. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1967 and continued on to receive a B.S. in Biology and a Masters in Education from Boston State College. Sue married her loving husband, Edward Mulvey, on April 18, 1975. They were happily married 42 years.
For the majority of her career, Sue worked as a high school science teacher at Milton High School and was devoted to her job. Since her retirement in 2007, she has enjoyed quilting, making cards, scrapbooking, visiting with friends and spending time with her family. Sue also was an active member of the Milton Retired Educators Association; and spent years involved with the Dedham chapter of the Massachusetts Mothers of Twins Association.
Susan is survived by her devoted husband Edward; her three daughters: Christine S. Mulvey of Durham, NC; Karen E. Mulvey and her husband Andrew Needleman of Norwood, MA; and Ann and her husband Michael McMahon of Canton, MA. She was the proud grandmother of Madeleine McMahon. Susan also leaves her sister Mary Louise Karahalis of Tempe, AZ (formerly of Norwood, MA) and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Lewis and Helen (O’Leary) Karahalis formerly of Norwood, MA.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton, MA. Friday morning at 10:30. Visiting hours at Dockray and Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St. Canton, MA. Thursday 4-7 pm. Burial private.
