Worcester – Patricia A. (Colby) Richard, 80, of Worcester died on Sunday, May 7th in the Saint Francis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after an illness.
Patricia was married for 50 years to the late Edward Richard who died in 2006. She is survived by a son, David Richard of Alfred, Maine; two daughters, Tina Richard of Framingham and Lisa Richards of Worcester; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Richard was born in Northbridge, MA daughter of the late Ira and Josephine (Higgins) Colby and is predeceased by a son, John Richard a daughter, Lynda Richard.
She spent most of her life working as a day care provider. Patricia first worked with the Webster Day Care Center operating a home daycare for them and later she worked as a home daycare provider on her own. Mrs. Richard enjoyed doing puzzle books, playing solitaire and bingo as well as frequenting yard sales. Patricia also enjoyed watching her soap operas, especially The Young & The Restless.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 11 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 10 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverly Oaks Road Waltham, MA 02452.
