Mona I. (Goodwin) Collum age 89 of Abington, died Thursday May 4, 2017 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. She was the devoted wife of Theodore L. Collum for 74 years. Mona was born in Whitman and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Edgar and Alice (Kent) Goodwin. She had lived in Abington for over 10 years, having previously living in Florida for 25 years.
When Mona moved back to the area she was a cashier at the Brockton and Plymouth Kmart Stores. She had also sold Avon products for many years.
In her free time, Mona enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting and sending Hallmark cards. She had adopted several rescue dogs most recently Brandy Lee. She also loved to socialize with all her neighbors at Chestnut Glen.
Mona will be remembered as a strong and determined lady who loved being with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son Dennis T. Collum and his wife Karen of Avon. She leaves 5 grandchildren Jill M. Rathgeber and her husband William of Hanover, Colleen M. Meurling of Bridgewater, Sharon J. DelPrete and her husband Peter of Hanover, Dennis M. Collum and his wife Ani of Norwell and Brian T. Collum and his wife Mollie of N. Easton. She also leaves 13 great grandchildren Sophie and Nicole Rathgeber, Sydney and Taylor Meurling, Nathan, Kelsey, Ashley and Nolan DelPrete, Olivia, Jack, Elle, Maeve and John Tyler Collum.
