WORCESTER - Mr. Angelo B. Coffone, 95, passed away peacefully Monday March 13th at Care One in Millbury.

Angelo was born on February 10, 1922 in Worcester, Massachusetts a son of the late Charles and Elvira (DeSantis) Coffone.

A lifelong resident, Angelo was educated through the Worcester schools. He joined the Navy in 1944 serving his country during World War II on the USS Destroyer Alaska , and then enlisted to serve during the Korean Conflict on the USS Destroyer Tender Newport News and later as a reserve for the Vietnam War retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. Angelo was disabled during his service and received three Bronze Stars.

He returned to Worcester and worked as a barber for many years. Most recently prior to his retirement Angelo worked as a grinder at Wyman Gordon for the past thirty years.

He was pre-deceased by his siblings, Ernest Coffone and Mary Altomare.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Elvira (Alfano) Coffone, a daughter, Antonietta Stacey and her husband John, a son, Charles Coffone; two grandchildren, Anthony and Steven Coffone; two brothers, Anthony Coffone and his wife Nancy, William Coffone, a sister, Rita Kane; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday March 18th at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd Worcester at 10:00am. Internment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
