Obituary

Judith A. (Wilcox) Foley, 62 of Derry, NH, died Monday, August 29, 2005 peacefully in her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Foley was born in Lawrence, MA on July 31, 1943, the only child of the late Frederick William and Lillian Mae (Dennison) Wilcox. She was a resident of Derry for 29 years, formerly living in Windham, NH. Mrs. Foley was a graduate of Andover High School and the New Hampshire Vocational Technical College in Concord, NH where she received a degree in Licensed Practical Nursing in 1979. She has worked for the past 15 years at the Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Manchester, NH where she leaves behind many dear friends, co-workers and residents that she loved so much. She was awarded Nurse of the Year for 2004. She was also chosen to receive the Governor’s award for Volunteerism in 1991 for work with Caregivers Inc. of Derry. Mrs. Foley was an active member of the Island Pond Baptist Church and participated in their Faith Outreach Program and Sunday School Classes. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, cross stitch and of course her dogs. Prior to her death Mrs. Foley wanted to express “How blessed she felt by God for all of the friends and family that have loved her over the years.”

She will always be forever loved by her husband of 26 years, John “Jack” C. Foley of Derry, her children, David DeVits and his wife Tina of New Ipswich, NH, Matthew DeVits and his wife Janet of Sandown, NH, John C. Foley, Jr. and his wife Karen of Groveland, MA, Heidi Foley-Bernard of Merrimack, NH, Scott R. Foley of Derry, James M. Foley and his wife Staci of Keene, NH, Meghan K. Foley of Derry, her 12 grandchildren, Christopher and Cody Bernard, Caitlin Foley, Brenna Foley, Leah Ford and her husband Greg, Shannon Foley, Myles DeVits, Michael DeVits, Matthew David DeVits, Soren Foley, Tanya Nolin and her husband Jeff, Christopher Trombley and four great-grandchildren, Shayla O’Donnell, Tyler and Lily Nolin and Hannah Ford. She was predeceased by her son, Sean M. Foley and a grandson, Zachary DeVits, both in 2005.

Friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 1st , from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Island Pond Baptist Church, 26 N. Salem Rd., Hampstead, NH. Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 12:00pm in the church. The burial will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Island Pond Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 26 N. Salem Rd., Hampstead, NH 03841.
