Sturbridge- Thomas Charles Vizard, 74, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Tom was a Sturbridge resident for over 25 years. He was predeceased by parents, Lucia Lincoln (MacLaren) and Charles T. Vizard.
Tom was born in Worcester, graduated Oxford High School and Springfield College and later went on to achieve his Masters in Physical Education at UMASS. Tom loved the stock exchange, the movies, chasing the weather, teaching in Sturbridge and was an ardent sports enthusiast. In the early 80’s Tom moved to California to raise his two surviving daughters, Malissa Vizard Roybal of Petaluma, CA and Monica Vizard Fleury of San Rafael, CA. Tom’s best friend and only brother, Douglas L. Vizard, survives him along with his three nieces and one nephew, numerous cousins and his ultimate legacy of three grandsons, Jameson, Chance & Rowdy.
Our family is deeply saddened by his quick departure, but is confident that his jovial spirit will live on with us all.
A Funeral Service honoring Tom’s memory will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the ROBERT J. MILLER- CHARLTON FUNERAL HOME, 175 Old Worcester Road, at 1:30PM. All who wish to attend will be welcomed with open arms.
