Paul W. Krohne

Paul William Krohne died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston following a battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Carryl (Wischmeyer) Krohne, his high school sweetheart; his son, Todd and his wife, Zoe; his son, Eric; his sister Marilyn and her family; two grandchildren; and many more friends.

Born in Indianapolis, the son of Alfred and Alma Krohne, he was a graduate of Southport High School. After graduating from the University of Evansville, he received a Masters and a Doctorate Degree in School Administration from Indiana University. A lifelong educator, Paul began his career as an elementary school teacher. While in Indiana, he worked for the Department of Public Instruction in numerous positions. He additionally taught school administration and finance at Ohio University.

Following a move to New Hampshire in 1985, he served as executive director of the New Hampshire School Boards Association. In recognition of Paul’s service, he was honored by the National School Boards Association as a recipient of the Thomas A. Shannon Award for Excellence in 2003.
He retired in 2015 after servicing as executive director of the South Carolina School Boards Association completing his 33 years of service in education. In addition, he was known as an expert in Parliamentary Procedures.

As an avid sailor, Paul cherished his time on the water and was also a golf enthusiast. His infectious spirit and love for people allowed him to connect with many over the years, in many locations, and from many different walks of life.

As numerous as his professional accomplishments were, his love of family was paramount in his life.
