SPENCER: Doris V. (Ledoux) Matheson 95, formerly of Howe Village, died Sunday, Dec. 25 at Notre Dame Long Term Care in Worcester.
She was married for 69 years to Francis C. Matheson who died in 2013. She leaves her sons John C. Matheson of Jefferson,MA and Robert W. Matheson and his wife Bernadette of Oldsmar, Fl., her daughter Karen D. Stanton and her husband John of Kensington, CT, and daughter in law Nita Matheson of Springfield, VA, 6 grandchildren, Jessica Richmond, Melissa Falk and Michael Matheson of Washington, Janice Hegewald of Germany, Barbra Matheson of Virginia and Aaron Matheson of Florida, 5 great grandchildren Katie, Tristan and Finnian Hegewald, Nathan Falk and Gerald Richmond. She is predeceased by a son William F. Matheson in1999.
Doris was a payroll clerk for 20 years at Owens-Illinois Corp. in Worcester before retiring in 1982. After retirement, she and her husband spent winters in Brooksville, Fl. and traveled the country in their motor home.
Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of William E. and Dora (Deslauriers) Ledoux and graduated from David Prouty High School in 1939 and Becker College in 1941. She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish, American Legion Post 138 Women's Auxillary and L'Union St. Jean the Baptist.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 30 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home on Friday.
