Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Aphrodite (Vasiliou) Cocavessis, who died December 10th. Our mother was born in Douviani, Northern Epiros, Greece, the only child of Vasilios and Evdoxia (Katchi) Vasiliou. She was the loving wife of Michael Kokavessis who died in 1981. She is survived by her four children, George M. Cocavessis and his wife, Deborah and their son, Michael, William M. Cocavessis and his wife, Katina and their sons, Michael and Christopher, Theodora Malo and her husband, Dionis and their sons, Dionis, Jr. and Frank and Yollanda Demetriades and her husband, Nicholas and their children, James and Cassandra.
She was a devoted wife and a loving and nurturing mother and grandmother. We take great comfort knowing that you are now reunited with the love of your life, our father. Although they will miss their YiaYia, her grandchildren will always cherish their fond memories of her. She was a long time member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater, FL.
Her funeral is Saturday, December 17th with a service at 12:30 p.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, December 16th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral or to Trinity Hospice, 545 Southwest Cutoff, Suite 9, Worcester, MA 01607
