Obituary

WORCESTER: John A. Dickson, 72, died on Monday, November 28, 2016 with his family by his side, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after a five-year battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Patricia A. (Sliwoski) Dickson; a daughter, Jennifer A. Sacovitch and her husband Michael of Worcester; two sisters, Janice Lyons and her husband Donald of Newark, OH, Judith Wilson and her husband Clayton of Crestview, FL; many nieces and nephews; and his grand puppy, “Jesse James”. His sister, Pauline Disbennette of Newark, OH, predeceased him.

He was born and raised in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Charles A. and Garnette E. (Green) Dickson and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He lived in Worcester more than 50 years.

John was a salesman for Bearings, Inc. in Worcester where he worked for many years until he retired. After his retirement, he worked as an assistant at Kelly Funeral Home for several years. He was also a long-time member and past president of the Worcester Dart League and an avid fan of the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed reading, cooking breakfast, listening to country oldies and visiting the beach.
