Mary L. Simonelli, 89, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 peacefully in her home.
She leaves a sister, Theresa L. Guenther of Dudley a brother, Alberto Simonelli and his wife Elizabeth of Worcester, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews as well as great great grand nieces and nephews and her caregiver Bridget.
Mary was born in Arce, Italy the daughter of the late Gaetano and Lucia (Simonelli) Simonelli and came to the United States as a child.
She was also predeceased by a brother, Bernard Simonelli.
Mary graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester State College(now, Worcester State University) and started her teaching career working for the U.S. Air Force teaching military children in Japan, Germany and many other places.
When she returned to the U.S. , she taught school in Worcester Schools at South High School and Burncoat High School before retiring.
She lived in Shrewsbury for many years, before moving to Webster almost a year ago.
She loved to travel and enjoyed going back to Italy to visit relatives.
The family would like to “Thank” Central Mass. Hospice for their care of Mary.

A Memorial Mass for Mary will be celebrated Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Burial will be at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.
The ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., is assisting Mary’s family with arrangements.
