Florence H. (Shannon) Peluso, 83, of Whitman, passed away on September 9, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Malden, on August 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Shannon and Hazel E. (Moody) Lowe.
Flo, as she was known to her friends and family, graduated from Everett High School and went on to work as an Administrator at Mass Bonding and Insurance Company. It was there that she met her husband of 57 years, Joseph (Ken) Peluso. She would later work for a number of years as a Packer at Standard Products in Whitman.
She regularly attended the Holy Ghost Church in Whitman. She loved to cook, do crossword puzzles, read, play the lottery, and enjoyed the occasional trip to Foxwood’s.
Flo was preceded in death by her daughter Debra A. Hutchinson, her parents, her sister, Phyllis Russo, twin brother, Frederick Shannon, and her brother Harold Shannon. She is survived by her husband Joseph (Ken) Peluso, and their children: Karen (Gregory) Strandberg and their children, Amanda & Eric, along with Amanda’s sons, Wyatt & Quentin Nix; Debra’s son, Daniel Shea, and her husband, PJ Hutchinson; Michael (Kathy) Peluso, and their daughters Kristina (John) Hanlon, Jr. and Kimberly Peluso; Robert (Michele) Peluso, and their children, Jonathan and Joseph Peluso, Rachell Scholl, and Stacey (Steve) Mavilia; her son David (Debra Jean) Peluso, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 16th at 8:15 from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle), Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church Whitman. Interment will in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will held on Thursday September 15th from 5:00-8:00PM.
