Delores Kender, age 80 of Holden, MA, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016. She was comforted by her children and passed away very peacefully.
Delores attended school in Worcester, MA, and spent many years working in the banking industry until she retired as a V.P. Of Marketing.
After retirement, Delores embarked on a new career and traveled the world as a nanny for several golfers on the PGA tour. She lived in Holden, Florida and Nantucket but her heart always belonged to the beaches of Eastham, Cape Cod where she loved spending many summers with her grandparents and family.
Delores loved her family and friends. She was very creative with crafts, and loved sewing and knitting. She also enjoyed going to Lake Champlain in VT, the casino, visiting with her friends in the Holden, MA community, seeing her children and grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law and their extended family.
Delores is survived by her daughter Linda, her daughter Debra (Kender) Shliapa and son-in-law Michael of MA, her son Eric Kender and daughter-in-law Mary (Rizzo) Kender, her granddaughter Jessica Kender and grandson Eric Vincent Kender of NC. She is also survived by her brother Roy Saari and sister-in-law Millie (Lenis) Saari, brother John Saari, and brother Robert Saari of CA, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members whom she loved dearly.
Delores selflessly donated her body to the University of Massachusetts Medical School to aid in future teachings. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses at UMASS Hospital, who cared for her during her illness. Their compassion and guidance is noteworthy.
There will be no services. The family suggests donations be made in Delores's name to her favorite charity, Saint Jude's Partner in Hope.
