Obituary

Charlotte Leah Conger McMillan, 76, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Denise Percival officiating. Mrs. McMillan will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, May 27, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be gathering at the McMillan residence at 12 McMillan Road in Tifton.

Steve Roberts, Tommy Whitley, John David Taylor, Justin Weeks, Waye Hill, Derek Smith, Ernie Cintado, Tommy Miller, Scott Adams. Zachary Adams, Brandynne Cintado and Tanner Adams will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Brown, Angie Williamson, Peggy Wood, Steven and Sherry Williford, Coy and Carolyn Tawzer, Carl and Melissa Tawzer, Trey and Tracey Stephens, Grady and Sarah Thompson, Cleo and Doris Stone, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution “D.A.R.”, Bobby Fresh, Holly Hall, Anne Bell, Ann Harrison Brewer, Kelly Fresh, Mary Guill, Monie Moody, Liz Keith, Jamie Martin, Eunice Mixon, Pat Newsome, Mary John Reinhardt, Jane Sheridan, Diane Simmons, Loraine Sullivan, Christie Vance, Gladys Wiseman and Nancy Trawick and Levi Sapp D.A.R. members, Gail Hughes and Valerie Clements.

Born February 1, 1940 in Tifton, Mrs. McMillan was the daughter of the late Elzie Ezelle “Red” Conger and Ruth Carter Conger Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband in 2011, Leroy “The Cotton Man” McMillan, who she married on August 22, 1980. She graduated from Tifton High School in 1958 and was a retired bus driver for the Tift County Board of Education. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was the current regent and also served in many other capacities. She was also a member of Eldorado Baptist Church. She was known by everyone as “Aunt Charlotte”. She leaves behind her little dog, Daisy, who she loved with all her heart and was her constant companion.

Mrs. McMillan is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joyce and Jesse Weeks of Welaka, Florida, Sharon Hill of Eldorado and Donna and David Taylor of Nashville; two sisters-in-law, Joyce McMillan Johnson of Tifton and Myrtice McMillan Jackson of Jacksonville, Florida; and a brother-in-law, Donald McMillan of Tifton. Aunt Charlotte had many nieces and nephews.
