Richard Miles Obituary - Water Valley MS

Charles Richard Miles, age 77, died Friday, May 6, 2016 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born June 21, 1938 in Coffeeville, MS to the late Lonnie and Allie Sprouse Miles. Richard worked as a machine operator for Borg-Warner in Water Valley where he retired after 32 years of service. He loved his church family and was an active and faithful member of Camp Ground Church where he served as Usher. Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, hunting, mowing yards and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Camp Ground Church in Yalobusha County, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Camp Ground Church with Bro. Jerry King officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Ground Cemetery with Cody Schmitz, Terry Allen, Jr., Randy Potts, Glen Callahan, Terry Schmitz and Tony Miles serving as pallbearers. Lloyd Defer, James Schmitz and Charles Dennis will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Young Miles of Water Valley, MS; his sons, Robert Lee Barnes of Water Valley, MS, Jerry Lee (Katie) Miles of Ripley, MS and Perry Joe (Melanie) Miles of Southaven, MS; his sister, Ruby (Earl) Kehoe of Water Valley, MS; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Ann Miles and Jane Elizabeth Miles; three sisters, Ora Bell Dawkins, Martha McDonald and MaeBell Hall; and three brothers, Clinton Miles, Lewis Miles and Robert Miles.
