WORCESTER-Doris J. (Erickson) Skoglund, 91, passed away February 2nd. Doris’ husband of 67 years, Earl W. Skoglund passed away in 2011.
She leaves five children, Virginia Soos of Greensboro, North Carolina, Edd Skoglund of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Priscilla Bourassa and her husband Roger of Worcester, Lynne Hadley and her husband Jack of Webster and Marie Skoglund of Worcester; her sister, Dagney Maas of Califon, New Jersey; six grandchildren, Lesley Welch, Karen Soos, Jason Duke, Melissa Zazarine, Eric Skoglund and Dawn Skoglund; several great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Doris was also predeceased by five siblings, Carl, Lennart, Runar, John Erickson and Edith Bourassa.
Doris was born in Worcester, daughter of Carl W. and Selma J. (Boling) Erickson. She graduated from Worcester Girl’s Trade School. Doris worked in the cafeteria at US Steel and State Mutual Insurance Company for many years before retiring. She was a lifelong active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church; she was an avid walker, enjoyed playing bingo and chatting with people.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 5th from 6-8 pm at LINDQUIST LUNDIN Funeral Home, 36 Butler St. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 11am at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St. Burial will be private
