Obituary

WORCESTER: Germaine M. (Lafortune) Salvidio, 75, of First Street died Friday, Jan. 29 in Worcester Rehabilitation & Health care Center after an illness.
Her husband Edward F. Salvidio, Sr. died in 2015. She leaves two sons; Frederick Mellor of Jefferson and Russell Mellor of Spencer, a daughter Brenda Gardner and her husband John of Hubbardston, a brother Roger Lafortune and a sister Lorraine Crain, two step-sons; Edward F. Salvidio, Jr. and Gary M. Salvidio and his wife Robin all of Worcester, a step-daughter Donna Holbrook of Brookfield, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Salvidio was born in Woonsocket, R.I. daughter of Lionel Lafortune and Cecilia Y. (St. Jean) DiCristoforo. She was a certified nurses aide for 34 years at several area Nursing Homes retiring in 2005. She was a talented interior decorator and loved spending time with her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff and hospice nurses at Worcester Rehabilitation and Health care center for their compassionate care.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, Feb. 1 at 11:00 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of MA/NH, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing funeral arrangements.
