Florence A. (McGuiness) Carlson, 84, of Worcester, died Friday, January 15th in the Life Care Center of Auburn. Her husband Robert H. Carlson died in 1995. She is survived by her son, Gary R. Carlson of Worcester; her daughter, Karen M. Blais and her husband, Steven of Auburn; a brother, William McGuiness of Charlton; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. A son, Alan D. Carlson and a daughter, Diane M. Carlson; four brothers, William, Howard, Charles and Robert McGuiness and a sister, Doris McGuiness predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of William and Florence (Lane) McGuiness; and was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce. Mrs. Carlson had at one time worked for Telechron, Robin Sales Tupperware and as a teller at many banks, retiring from T.D. Bank in 2010. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish and had served as a Eucharistic Minister there, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Her funeral is Thursday, January 21st from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with her funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, January 20th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
