Obituary

George C. Panagiotidis, 72, of Paxton, died Thursday, January 14th at home with his loving family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Soultana "Susan" (Alexiadis) Panagiotidis; his son, Chris J. Panagiotidis and his wife, Magdalena of Boylston; his daughter, Anna P. Briggs and her husband, Shawn of Sutton; four brothers, Alex Panagiotidis and his wife, Katina of Worcester, Arthur Panagiotidis and his wife, Maria of Augusta, SC, Peter Panagiotidis and his wife, Litsa of Paxton and Stefanos Panagiotidis and his wife, Priscilla of West Boylston; his sister, Maria Germanos and her husband, Kostas of Holden; four grandchildren, Sophie, George and Luca Briggs and Katerina Panagiotidis; and many nephews and nieces. His grandson, George A. Panagiotidis predeceased him.

He was born in Hrisohorafa, Greece the son of Christos and Anna (Alexiadis) Panagiotidis, and came to Worcester in 1967. Mr. Panagiotidis served in the Greek army as a chef for the King and Queen of Greece. He had formerly owned and operated Christos Place in Winchendon. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and Cultural Center Hrisohorafiton Alexander the Great. George enjoyed deep sea fishing, gardening and renovation projects. His greatest joy was time spent with his family especially his grandchildren.

His funeral is Wednesday, January 20th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:00 a.m. in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, January 19th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
