Obituary

WORCESTER-William R. "Billy" Carabba, 68, of Worcester, died peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2016 at UMass Memorial Hospital after an illness, with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janice M. (Matthews) Carabba; a son, Jason W. Carabba and his wife Jennifer of Grafton; a daughter, Angela M. Carabba and her fiancee Tom Dunn of Worcester; and his beloved grandsons, whom he affectionately called his "two best big boys", Giovanni and Matteo. Billy also leaves two brothers, Ronald Carabba of Worcester and Robert Carabba of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Patricia Connolly and her husband Frank of Millbury and Nancy Carabba of Worcester; many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, John Carabba and a sister, Diane Surprenant.

He was born in Worcester, son of Mario and Margaret (Generelli) Carabba and graduated from Doherty Memorial High School. Bill drove 18 wheelers for various companies for many years and belonged to the Teamsters Union. He was an avid sports fan but most importantly, Bill was a die hard NY Yankees fan. Keeping in touch with his extended family was very important to Bill and he always managed to keep everyone connected.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, January 6 from 5-7 pm at CALLAHAN FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org/donate.
