Mary (Cordeiro) Pacheco, age 102 of Somerset, passed away Oct. 25, 2015. She was the widow of Joseph A. Pacheco and daughter of the late Manuel and Theresa (Ferreira) Cordeiro. Mary was a retired sewing machine operator having worked at Hill Mfg. and at Schniederson’s Mfg. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church, Somerset, a member of the Women’s Guild, the Catholic Women’s Club and the Somerset Seniors Clubs.
Mary was the mother of Margaret M. Soroka, Joseph A. Pacheco and Dennis R. Pacheco all of Somerset; sister of Lena Luiz of Bristol, RI, Catherine Camara of Fall River, Constance “Connie” Louis of Dighton, John Cordeiro of Naples, FL, James Cordeiro of Somerset and the late Anne Medeiros, Joseph, Daniel and Evangeline Cordeiro, Laura Souza and Gilda Silvia. She leaves 7 grandchildren: Cheryl Lockett, Susan Cohen, Joseph Soroka Jr.& Christopher Soroka, Kerry Mello, Diana Pacheco & Sara Pacheco; 5 great grandchildren: Zoe & Max Cohen, Olivia & Anna Rose Lockett, Skylar Mello; and many nieces and nephews.
Mom loved her grandchildren and loved having company, always offering a cup of tea. Mary’s family would also like to thank the Staff of Somerset Ridge Center for their kindness and care of their mother during her stay.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Thursday at 10:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Church, South St., Somerset at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
