LEICESTER; David C. "Mink" Larson, 77, of 365 Pleasant St., died Thursday, October 22 at UMASS Medical Center, Lake Ave. Campus, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 58 years Elizabeth A. "Betty" (O'Neil) Larson, three sons; Stephen M. Larson and his wife Donna of Leicester, Michael J. Larson and his wife Wendy of Leicester, Brian N. Larson and his wife Stacy of Spencer, a daughter, Laurie A. Larson and her partner Tony Mott of Leicester, two sisters, Beverly and Linda Larson both of Leicester, 8 grandchildren; Matthew, Megan, Brittany, Benjamin, Jack, Seth, Emilee and Joseph, 2 great-grandchildren, Jadrian andChace, his uncle Walter Pecevich and his wife Theresa of Quincy, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a son David N. Larson in 1964 and Patricia M. Larson in 2009.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Nils E. & Clara (Pecevich) Larson.
Mr. Larson graduated from Leicester High School and later served his country for 8 years in the Army National Guard.
He worked as a truck driver for the Local 170 Teamsters for over 25 years, retiring in 1984.
"Mink" was a member at Hillcrest Country Club for many years. He was a scratch handicap golfer, winning many Club Championships and local Tournaments. As well as golf he was an avid Boston sports fan. He had a hobby of collecting antique golf clubs and repaired and designed custom golf clubs for many area golfers.
The family wishes to give a special Thank You to "Mink's" neighbor Joe Kuchinski for his constant support when it was needed.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 26 at 10 AM in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Sunday, Oct. 25 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
