Obituary

Sean M. Foley, 25 of Derry, NH, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 27, 2005 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mr. Foley was born in Derry on January 4, 1980, a son of John “Jack” C. and Judy A. (Wilcox) Foley. Sean was a lifelong Derry resident. He played varsity football and lacrosse for Pinkerton Academy, Derry, where he made the All-State Lacrosse Team. Sean also played lacrosse for Dean College in Franklin, MA and during his first year won the Coaches Award as well as a place on the All-State Team. During his second year at Dean College he was named Captain of the lacrosse team. He earned his degree in criminal justice from Dean College. He also had earned a scholarship to Catawba College in Salisbury, NC to play lacrosse, until injuries cut short his playing career. He was recently accepted into the Carpenter's Union, Local 40 in Boston, MA as a carpenter's apprentice. Sean attended Island Pond Baptist Church and will be remembered as a good son, a phenominal brother and a well loved uncle.

He is survived by his parents, John "Jack" and Judy (Wilcox) Foley of Derry, five brothers, David DeVits and his wife Tina of New Ipswich, NH, John Foley Jr. and his wife Karen of Groveland, MA, Matthew DeVits and his wife Janet of Sandown, NH, Scott Foley of Manchester, NH, James M. Foley and his wife Staci of Keene, NH, two sisters, Heidi Foley-Bernard of Merrimack, NH and Meghan Foley of Derry, six nephews, Christopher and Cody Bernard of Merrimack, Myles DeVits, Michael DeVits, Matthew David DeVits and Soren Foley, four nieces, Caitlin Foley, Brenna Foley, Leah DeVits, Shannon Foley, an aunt, Sandy Fitzmaurice and her husband Ray of W. Newbury, MA, an uncle, Harold "Hal" Foley and his wife Ann of Franklin, MA and also by many cousins. He was predeceased by his much beloved nephew, Zachary DeVits on April 20, 2005.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at 11:30am in the Island Pond Baptist Church, 26 North Salem Road, Hampstead, NH. The burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm in the Island Pond Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Island Pond Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, 26 North Salem Road, Hampstead, NH 03841.
