Obituary

SPENCER; Paul X. Gaucher, 76, of 11 Alix Rd., died Sunday, October 11 at his home after a long illness. Paul was an extremely generous, honest, proud and uncommon man.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Jeanne H. (Bousquet) Gaucher, a son, Joshua J. Gaucher of Spencer, three daughters; Jennifer J. Gaucher of Spencer, Jesselyn J. Gaucher of Spencer, Janessa J. Ravenel and her husband James of Cary, NC, a brother, Peter F. Gaucher and his wife Carol of Spencer, 6 grandchildren; Cassandra, Carina and Cadie Miller, Jaxton, Justin and Jaclyn Ravenel.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Romeo L. & Pearl C. (Archambeault) Gaucher.
Paul graduated from St. John's High School, Class of 1957 and later married Jeanne on January 18, 1964.
He served his country during peacetime in the Army 82nd Airborne and also served his Town on many political committees. He was a staunch conservative and a loyal American. He owned and operated Gaucher Excavating over 40 years, working every day until his health declined. He enjoyed his work and especially his time in "the pit" with all his friends and family.
The family wishes to thank all of Paul’s many friends and neighbors who visited him and offered their love and support over the last 5 months. Many thanks to the VNA for their service and care during his illness. Donations may be made in Paul's name to a charity of one's choice. Respecting the wishes of Paul, there will not be any services.
