Jean A. (Zappala) Campo passed away peacefully at the Hancock Park Nursing Center of Quincy. She was 83. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lina (Leota) Zappala, who emigrated from Messina, Sicily. A Somerville resident for over 35 years, Jean and her late husband Frank also lived in Medford for several years. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Jean enjoyed a long career as an executive assistant in several large organizations. They include the First National Bank, the World affairs Council and New England Life. In recent years, Jean lived in Quincy.
The beloved wife of the late Frank S. Campo, Sr. who passed away in 2007, she was a loving mother to Pasquale “Pat” Campo and his wife Lori of Everett, Nanette Campo of Quincy, Dr. Frank Campo, DPM of the North End of Boston and Gina Campo Cappello of Andover. She was also a loving grandmother to Andrew and Samantha Campo and Kristina and Gabrielle Cappello.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday September 14th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, 4 – 8 PM.
