Sullivan, James Thomas "Sully" Of Waltham, formerly of Chestnut Hill, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 43 years of Joan (Lynch) Sullivan. Devoted father of Maggie and her husband Patrick Collins of Canton and James and his wife Juliet Sullivan of Sudbury. Loving grandfather to Alanna, Liam and Brenna Collins, and Lily, Declyn, Theodore and Mae Sullivan. Brother-in-law of George and Alice Lynch of Bedford, John Lynch of Needham, Marjorie Murphy of Braintree, Jeannette Lynch of Waltham, and Marlene and Susan Lynch of California. He will also be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents Francis and Margaret Jessie Sullivan, his sister K. Patricia and her husband James Colleran, his sister Ruth Sullivan, and his brother Francis and his wife Helen Sullivan, his brothers-in-law Charles and James Lynch, John Murphy and sister-in-law Christine Lynch.
Jim grew up in Wellesley in St. Paul's Parish and was a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Air Force Reserves and was a longtime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was employed at Cabot Corporation, Boston Sand and Gravel and the Boston Health Commission.
Visiting Hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., WELLESLEY, Sunday, May 10 from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home, Monday, May 11 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
