Philip Picillo, 72 of Medford, died Monday after a long illness in the Whidden Memorial Hospital, Everett. Born in Somerville, he was a lifelong resident of Medford. Philip was a Groundskeeper, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for many years and retired in 1992. He also was a late U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Cherished son of the late Mary (Ghiloni) and Romolo A. Picillo. Devoted brother of James A. Picillo and his wife Deborah of Saugus, Leona Boraczek and her husband Steve of New Hampshire and the late Anthony J. and John M. Picillo. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Friday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent in Philip’s name to the Chelsea Soldiers' Home, 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea, MA 02150.
