HAVERHILL: Marlene Elsie (Staiger) Kellner, 80, a long term resident of Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill and formerly of Malden and Belmont, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, while being lovingly comforted by her family.
Born in Rockville, Connecticut on May 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Harold G. and Elsie E. (Lehmann) Staiger
Marlene was employed as an Executive Secretary at Harvard University Business School Press and Publishing Division for twenty-five years prior to her retirement. She was very creative and enjoyed dabbling in home arts and handcrafts including quilting, cooking and gardening.
Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Miller and her husband, Russell; a brother, Eugene Staiger and his wife, Linda; a sister, Karen Chapman and her husband, Alexander N.; grandchildren, David Ladetto, Justin Ladetto and his wife, Kristen, and Nicholas Pushee. She was also predeceased by her son, Steven Kellner.
At the request of Marlene’s family all services will be privately held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Boston Children’s Hospital, ATTN: Cardiac Unit, 300 Longwood Ave, Boston, MA 02115.
