Shawn P. McCarthy, 28, of Loudon, NH, died suddenly Wednesday March 5, 2014 in his home in Loudon following a lengthy illness. Shawn was born in Derry, NH on March 2, 1986, a son of Roger Wheeler and Sharon McCarthy-Wheeler. Formerly living in Windham, NH, he was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 2005. Shawn later graduated from McIntosh College in Dover, NH with a degree in Culinary Arts in 2008. Shawn was a huge Batman fan, enjoyed drawing, loved food, and had many friends on Facebook.
In addition to his parents of Windham, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Pauline "Memere" McCarthy of Loudon; two sisters, Amy Wheeler of Austin, TX, and Maureen Wheeler of Windham; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Monday, March 10th from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St, Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the N.E. Medical Center/Tufts Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic, 800 Washington St., Boston MA 02111.
