Obituary

PITTSFIELD, MA - Anna Ransom, of 27 Maryland Avenue, Pittsfield, crossed over to eternal life on Dec 8, 2013. She was born in Peabody on September 7, 1928 and was a life-long resident of the Peabody/Salem area. She was the beautiful daughter of Athas Papacostas and Anastasia Bariotas Papacostas.

Anna was a member of the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. She loved and embraced her religious community by teaching Sunday school and volunteering for many church activities.

She was employed by several businesses in the Northshore area, Including Gold Star Coffee.

Anna's greatest joy was the time she spent with her family. She brought happiness, laughter, and love to the hearts of those she touched. Anna was an incredible seamstress and enjoyed movies, live theatre, and attending the Boston Pops with her niece Cassandra. Sports were a passion of Anna’s; she was an avid golfer, bowler and was a fanatic fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

Her husband, Larry LeBel passed away February 1986. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda Anastasia Ransom, her husband Bob Cederholm and grandson Nico Ransom Cederholm; Bobbi Ransom Rheaume, her husband Ed Rheaume and Nikki Ransom, her fiancé Albert Turner, one sister Virginia Tsouvalos and her husband John Tsouvalos, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Anna also leaves Bill Ransom, father of her three daughters.

Family and friends are welcome to gather together at Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, on Tuesday Dec 17, 2013. Visitation is from 9:00-10:30 AM, followed by a church service at 11 AM at the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody.
