Dixie D. Gilmore, 59, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Gilmore was born November 13, 1953, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Paul Eugene Hooper & Marian Aline Lyons Hooper Dixon. She was graduated from Plant City Junior High School in Plant City, Florida and received her nurses’ training from South Florida University. She worked with doctors as well as hospitals throughout Florida and also did home nursing care. She had lived in Fitzgerald for the past four years coming from Brandon, Florida. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Plant City.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years: Charles Gilmore of Fitzgerald; children: Mark & Jeanette Gilmore of Brandon, FL, Richard Gilmore of Seffner, FL, Chuck Gilmore of Fitzgerald, Tiffany & Clint Coffman of Valrico, FL, and Nathan Evans of Brandon, FL; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and siblings: William Dixon, Emma Loyce Dixon Hines, Jo Beth Dixon, and Sherry Dawn Dixon.
