NATICK: Gary F. Garvin, 54, of Phoenix, AZ and Natick, passed peacefully in the early morning of August 27, 2013, under hospice at the Person To Person Assisted Living Care Home in Phoenix.
Born in Natick on November 22, 1958, Gary was the second son of Edward C. and the late Edith (Buell) Garvin. Brother of the late Edward C. Garvin, Jr., he is survived by his father and stepmother Betty of The Villages, FL; his aunts and uncles, Richard and Gerry Garvin of Falmouth, Daniel and Joanne Bache of Wayland, and Mrs. Alfred Buell of Ashland; his stepsisters; many cousins; and friends in both Arizona and Massachusetts.
Gary graduated from Natick High School, Class of 1977, and enjoyed playing hockey with the Natick Comets. He studied architectural drawing at Wentworth Institute and would often design a blueprint along with landscaping just for the joy of drawing. He was employed for twenty years with Polaroid in Waltham and at the Natick Stop & Shop.
His personality was well suited to meeting and greeting people while working at familiar restaurants in the area. Gary had the kindest heart and his life was enriched by the many loving friends he made along the way. He was eager to please and would lend a helping hand, a smile, or a hearty laugh to all he met. He will surely be missed by his family and friends.
A service will be held at Good Shepherd Parish, 99 Main Street, Wayland, on September 20th at 10:00A.M. Interment will follow at Dell Park Cemetery, Natick.
Those who wish, in lieu of flowers, may contribute to their local hospice in Gary’s memory.
