Obituary

Edward David Kalinoski, 63, died peacefully on August 15, 2013. He was born August 24, 1949, formerly of Dickson City, PA., son of the late Edward Michael Kalinoski and Marion (Waslenko) Kalinoski.

He is survived by his wife Pamela Huber Kalinoski; his son Daniel Edward Kalinoski and Lynda Zelenski and her son Tyler Zelenski; his daughter Wendy Conigliaro and her husband Robert Conigliaro Jr.; his grandchild Kelsey Conigliaro; Brother Paul Kalinoski and his wife Donna Kalinoski; Sister Patricia Sikora and her husband Steven Sikora.

As a young man Edward was an Eagle Scout and he continued using his knowledge of leadership, service, and outdoor skills when he joined the Navy in 1969. After 22 years of service in 1991 he retired as chief torpedoman. He served his country on the Nautilus, Cobbler, Skipjack, Navy Submarine Support Facility, Snook, Sub School, and USS Groton. Throughout his military career he earned many awards and decorations of honor and expertise.

Edward then worked for Securitas as an armed guard at Millstone for 15 years. He received many awards and citations for his diligence, commitment, and ensuring the safety of others. He was on the Safety Concerns Committee and the Pistol Team. He had a passion for hunting, archery, and fishing. He was a member of the Ledyard Gun Club and the Yawbucks Gun Club. He was a hero in every sense of the word. He will not only be remembered for his many achievements but also for the laughter he brought to everyone who knew him.

A chapel and graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, in the Middletown Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
