PALMER – Lucy M. (Severino) Desmarais, 94, of the Village of Three Rivers in Palmer, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, July 21, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Enfield, Connecticut on April 29, 1919, a beloved daughter of the late Frank and Rosa (Calagera) Severino. She was raised in Enfield and attended Enfield schools. Following her marriage to her husband in 1941, she moved to Three Rivers and resided there the remainder of her life. She was employed as a welder for 25 years at the Phelons Corporation in Three Rivers and later in Wilbraham and retired in 1981. She was a communicant and member of the Ladies of Saint Anne of the former Saint Anne Church and currently was a communicant of Divine Mercy Church, both in Three Rivers. Lucy often volunteered her time at the Palmer Food Share and was known for her work as a seamstress that she provided to many people, often only charging them for the replacement cost of the thread. She was a quiet woman who showered her family with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Leo A. Desmarais who was Called Home on April 23, 1992. They were married on January 25, 1941 at Saint Patrick Church in the Thompsonville section of Enfield and were blessed with over 51 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving daughter, Patricia L. Bouvier and her husband, James, of Bondsville; her two cherished grandsons, Adam Bouvier and his wife, Candace, of Palmer and Kevin Bouvier of Bondsville; her two dear brothers, Paul Severino and his wife, Joanne, of Connecticut and Frank Severino and his wife, Marlene, of Florida; and her many dear nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her four dear brothers, Joseph, Charles, Nicholas and Anthony Severino; her four dear sisters, Sadie Arel, Catherine Puglisi, Mary Onofrio and Rose Desmarais; and their dear spouses. Family and friends will be invited to attend a Service of Committal at a later date in October of 2013 at Saint Anne Cemetery in Three Rivers and a future notice will be placed in the newspaper.
