Worcester - Barbara "Barb" H. (Glazebrook) Evans, 75, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle. She leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Harold O. Evans; five sons and two daughters: Blake (Debbie) Glazebrook, B. Roxanne Stebbins, Quinn (Kathy) Evans, Michael Evans, Dale Evans, Michele (Blaine) Loughead, and Brian (Dawn) Evans; a sister Linda Kent(Victor); 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister and three brothers: Sharon, Allen (Judy), Richard, and Fred Glazebrook.
Barbara Helen was born in Halifax, NS, Canada, to the late Rita (Rose) and George Glazebrook. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Halifax. She moved to Worcester in 1963. Barb retired from Digital Equipment Corporation. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading novels, and traveling to Nova Scotia. She was an avid shopper. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 24, at the Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. A calling hour will be held at 12 noon followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Burial will be in All Faiths Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham MA 01701.
