Obituary

Philip R. Camble, Sr., 63 of Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, June 13th at home surrounded by his loving family and he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus. He leaves his wife of 43 years, Victoria A. (Pough) Camble; a son, Philip R. Camble, Jr. and his wife, Melanie of Grosvenordale, CT; two spiritual daughters, Kelly M. Pough, wife of John Pough and Tamara Berry both of Worcester; two brothers, Robert B. Camble of Lowell and George Camble of Georgia; five sisters, Audrey Heath and Janet Witherspoon of Charlotte, NC; Lois Chester of Fitchburg, Marilyn Madison of Worcester, Carolyn Graham of Gastonia, NC; a special brother Walter J. Davenport of Worcester; a special friend, Sherriel D. Lewis of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Bryan Camble, Brandon Paul, Philip James Camble, John Desrosier, Jacob Dutcher, Jillian Dutcher, Janai Pough and a great grandson, Elijah. He was predeceased by five siblings.
He was born in New York City but he lived in Worcester all his life. He was the son of the late Arthur and Theresa (Tolson) Camble. Phil was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a systems operator for the last six years at Imperial Distributors. He was a longtime member of John Street Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee, was a member of the senior choir and the Mighty Men of Valor. Phil enjoyed going to York Beach Maine with his ‘Cutie Patootie’ and their friends, Sandy and Roy Blanchard. He was a local musician for a long time. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. He was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed watching the Celtics and the Red Sox. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 21st at 10:00 a.m. in John Street Baptist Church, 43 John St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, June 20th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Please omit flowers.
