Mrs. Evelyn C. Michel, age 91 of Medford, died Tuesday May 7, in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. She is the wife of the late John P. Michel.
Mrs. Michel was born in Malden, the daughter of the late John M. and Margaret R. (Howard) Sullivan. She was raised in Malden and attended local schools. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Malden and in earlier years belonged to the ladies Sodality. She was also active in the many other programs offered there.
She was an avid reader, a quiet and demure woman and very family minded.Often described as a selfless, giving woman, her life revolved around her children, grandchildren and siblings.
Mrs. Michel is a former medical secretary and transcriber of medical records in the health care industry.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Michel, three sons: Kevin Michel and James Michel all of Medford and John Michel of Malden. Mother of the late Christine Duggento. Beloved grandmother of 5 grandchildren. Sister of Teresa Minnicello and the late Margaret R. Champion and John Sullivan.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 through 8 p.m. at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, Tuesday at 1:00 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
