Whitfield M. Landrum, Jr.
Evans, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, March 27, 2013, Mr. Whitfield M. “W.M.” Landrum, Jr., 86, husband of Mrs. Faye Peacock Landrum.
Mr. Landrum was a former member of St. Luke Methodist Church. He served during World War II and is a Purple Heart recipient. Mr. Landrum was a member of the South Augusta Exchange Club, the Georgia Bar Association and the Augusta Bar Association. He worked for Southern Railroad and retired from International Paper Company. Mr. Landrum was a devoted husband and father. He was the best dad ever, loved to dance and dedicated his life to the love of his life, Faye.
Family members in addition to his wife include sons: Michael Landrum of Rochester, NY, and Larry Landrum (Gerri Wise) of St. Simons Island, GA; grandchildren: Ashley Landrum White (Joe) and Lawson “Drew” Landrum; great grandchildren: Lucas White and Lena White; brother: Jimmy Landrum; sisters: Frances Crouch, Emily Sanders and Nancy L. Adams.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Drew Landrum, Dell Hadden, Mark Peacock, Ronnie Deese, Freddie Sanders and Jimmy Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Augusta Bar Association and of the South Augusta Exchange Club.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of his beloved wife to the Alzheimer’s Association at 106 SRP Drive Suite A, Evans, GA 30809.
