Jessie Aarron Dotson, 87, of Tifton died Friday, March 15, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Tifton First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Ike Branch will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Tifton First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Dotson was born on May 18, 1925 in Fayette County, Alabama and was the son of James Dotson and Fannie Hyde Dotson, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eddie Mae Wyers Dotson; one son, Bobby Dotson; four brothers; and three sisters. He was retired from Tifton Aluminum and was a member of Tifton First Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Dotson was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.
Mr. Dotson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debbie Dotson of Tifton; two daughters, Martha Dotson and Pam Dotson, both of Tifton; three grandchildren, Suzanne Hyde, Chris Dotson and Chad Dotson; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Dotson is also survived by a special friend, who was like a daughter to him and a sister to the family, Leslie Hunter.
