Paul H. Pitts, 90, of Tifton went home to with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Tift Avenue Church of God. Rev. Jack Perrin will officiate with burial to follow at Leila Methodist Church Cemetery in Colquitt County. Jay Perrin, Chuck Perrin, Derek Pitts, Kurt Pitts, Terry Brewer, Josh Winter and Troy Parsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be at the home of Marian and Jack Perrin, 382 White Water Road in Waterloo.
Mr. Pitts was born on March 11, 1922 in Tifton and was the son of the late Charlie Pitts and Beulah Nolen Pitts. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Winnie Jay Pitts, who he married on February 7, 1945 and who passed away on January 15, 2013; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wynell and Preston Newell and Ruby Nell and Travis Harper; one brother-in-law, Bob Snoderly; and one infant sister, Barbara Pitts. He was a retired farmer and served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Jouett in World War II and was a member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
Mr. Pitts is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Wendy Pitts of Charlotte, North Carolina, Wendell and Phyllis Pitts of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Jack Perrin of Waterloo; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton and June Pitts of Sandersville, Raydean and JoAnn Pitts of Tifton, James and Phyllis Pitts of Atlanta; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gereline and Gene Coburn of Albany, Beverly and Charles Cohurst of Clinton, Tennessee and Linda and Jim Smith of Dawson; six grandchildren and their spouses, Jay and Kim Perrin of Leesburg, Kimi and Terry Brewer of Charlotte, North Carolina, Crystal and Troy Parsons of Waterloo, Chuck and Anna Perrin of Waterloo, Derek and Brooke Pitts of Winder and Kurt and Molly Pitts of Tifton; and 14 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Luke, David and Paul Brewer, Andrea, Madeline, Jacob, Abby and Jackson Perrin, Josh, Brady and Perrin Grace Winter, Luke Parsons and Caroline Pitts.
