Robert Charles Adams Sr, 74, of Manchester died peacefully November 30, 2012 with his loving family by his side after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Manchester on March 21, 1938, the son of William and Beatrice (Moore) Adams. He lived a short time in Cabot, VT and otherwise was a lifelong resident of New Hampshire.
He attended O.L.P.H., Bishop Bradley, and local schools. He worked in the construction business all of his life and was thought highly of . Starting in 1959 until 1978, he worked in the plastering trade for FP Connor & Son, Inc of Nashua, NH, local union One. He worked for TJ McCartney Inc and FP Connor & Son being a member of District Council 35. From 1978 until 1999 Robert worked as a taper for the same business. He had a great love for his work and always wished he could have worked longer, before retiring. He worked for his brother-in-law; Joseph H. Hayes and had the highest regard for him in the business.
Family members that Bob leaves behind include his wife of 52 years, Cynthia A. (Hunkins) Adams; a daughter, Kelly Ann Adams; and a son, Robert C. Adams, Jr., whom he loved very much. He also leaves a sister, Barbara J. (Adams) Hayes and her husband Joseph H. Hayes; two half-brothers, Donald Adams and Chester Nowakowski; two brothers-in-law, Robert E. Hunkins, who Bob thought of as a brother, and his wife Gerrie and Joseph A. Dupont and his late wife Ginny; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Brandon, Steven and Connor; one great grandson Matthew Robert; and many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In his life, Bob wanted to live life his way and he did. He just loved life and loved to tell old, funny stories about his younger years, reminisce about life and all of the wrongs of world and everyday life. Bob and Cindy enjoyed many vacations, going on cruises to the islands and to Alaska, Foxwoods and Vegas. They also went with wonderful friends to Salisbury Beach and had many happy memories. Rockingham Park was another favorite place that Bob liked to go and bet on the races. Every Friday night Bob and Cindy would get together with brother-in-law Bob and his wife Gerrie to play cards. How he loved to get Gerrie and Bob’s goat over playing bid-wist. He also loved scratch tickets, poker machines, Lucky Strikes, coffee brandy and Budweiser. He may be gone, but never forgotten.
