Mary M. Venckus (Ruane) age 98 of Stoughton, formerly of Canton passed away October 12th at the Copley at Stoughton after a brief illness. Born and raised in Canton, she graduated from St. John’s School in Canton, Class of 1931. She worked as a Sales Clerk for Jordan Marsh in Braintree for many years before retiring in 1988. She lived most of her life in Canton, where she was a member of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club and enjoyed spending time at the Canton Senior Center. She has lived in Stoughton for the last 16 years. Beloved wife of the late John E. Mother of Mary Jo Everett & her husband Peter of VT & Judith A. O’Connell & her husband Paul of Stoughton. Sister of Bernadette Merchant of Canton & the late Julia Beck, Lillian Flynn, Joseph, John & Francis Ruane. Grandmother of Jennifer Barucci of Stoughton, Peter Everett of VT, Heather McGinley of Stoughton & Brian O’Connell of Burlington. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Tuesday morning at 10:30. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canton Senior Center 660 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021. | |||||
