Obituary

Mr. Rodney Van Baggett of Clarksville, TN, age 90 died August 27, 2012 at Walking Horse Meadows.
He was born in Clarksville, TN on February 5, 1922. He was the son of the late Isaac Asberry and Addie Lee Neblett Baggett, He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Kathryn Morris Baggett, his second wife, Lorene Vanhooser Baggett, and his sisters Gladys Conatser and Clara Estelle Baggett.
Mr. Baggett was a former member of the Madison Street Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and is presently a member of the Hilldale Church of Christ. He formerly was a truck driver for Frosty Morn, drove a Clarksville City Bus, and retired from Ft. Campbell Civil Service. He proudly served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as Staff Sgt.
Survivors include his three sons: Rodney W. (Judy) Baggett of Clarksville, TN; Gary (Margaret) Baggett of Lebanon, TN, and Steve (Pam) Baggett of Dickson, TN; one daughter Judy Baggett Goostree of Gallatin, TN; ten grandchildren: Kristi (Raymon) Sheppard, Kimberly (Dennis) Craig, Kerri (Brian) Jimenez, John Smith, Don (Jeanie) Smith, Dawn (Dwayne) Grissim, Beth Baggett, Scott (Kristi) Baggett, Matthew (Rebecca) Baggett, and Jason Baggett; twelve great grandchildren: Katelyn and Morgan Sheppard, Alexis Craig, Jesse and Emily Jimenez, Houston and Ryan Smith, Hunter Grissim, Kayla and Ashlie Williams, Clara Baggett, and Lane Baggett; three step sons: David (Joan) Van Hooser, Dale (Kathy) Van Hooser, and Doug Van Hooser: six step-grandchildren: Brittany (Austin) Van Hooser-Childs, Daniel (Allison) Nadeau, Lauren (Dee) Travis, Win Nadeau, Kelly (Clint) Carter, Katie Van Hooser; three step-great grandchildren: Story and Veda Childs and Austin Carter. Also Surviving are his sisters; Jewell Powell of Smyrna, TN and Hazel Pepper of Clarksville, TN.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Geoffrey Sikes officiating. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
