David Lloyd Penney, 69, of Gilmanton Iron Works, NH, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his home. He was born on December 25, 1942 in North Reading, MA, a son of the late John S. and Emmie Winifred (Bishop) Penney, and was raised in West Andover, MA. Dave established the Penney Fence Co., Inc. in Londonderry in 1963. He was an avid private pilot, enjoyed the outdoors, loved nature and lived an extremely active life. Dave was a man of integrity and character and a man of great faith in God.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rebecca (Torosian) Penney; two daughters, Robin (Penney) Ritenour and husband Rev. Richard O. Ritenour, Tina (Penney) Jean and husband Joseph A. Jean; grandchildren, Rev. Jessica (Ritenour) Bryan and husband Frank Bryan, Ashley Nicole Ritenour, Jonathan O. Ritenour, Rev. Joshua Parison, and Amber (Parison) Lassor; six great grandchildren; siblings, Rev. John Samuel Penney, Jr., Larraine (Penney) Slater - Nielsen, Ruth (Penney) Murry, Shirley (Penney) Opal, George Penney, Melva (Penney) Macciolli, Edward Penney, and Linda (Penney) Berube - Walker. He was predeceased by two siblings, John Calvin Penney and Anita (Penney) Bennett.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, July 15th from 2 – 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A celebration of Dave’s life began at 4:00pm in the funeral home. All were invited to join at the Yard Restaurant in Londonderry following the service for refreshments and fellowship. A graveside service was held on Monday at 11:00am in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Rd., Londonderry.
